Khan: All Showbiz, Nothing realistic

“My Name is Khan”, this title is very unfair. In my view this title should have been an extended one – “Khan mera naam, sirf bolna mera kaam”. No offence, but the behavior of SRK in this recent episode has been depressing for me. Every time when the things are going in the right direction, for the betterment of the position of India with respect to Indo-Pak scenario, someone like our beloved SRK smashes all the hopes down. The whole idea of including Pak players in IPL 3 is not acceptable. Moreover, SRK himself did not follow this Idea practically at the time of auctions. So does he have the right to say all this what he said and thus create a nuisance??

I want my readers not to misunderstand me. Opposing SRK and supporting Shiv Sena are two different things. Here I m taking a call on SRK’s stand. May be I’ll come to the Shiv sena point in my next post. Let’s have a look on the issue from the start. The issue began when SRK, owner of an IPL team said that the Pak players would have been selected for IPL3. Wow, this was a nice way to come back in the headlines. I would interpret this statement as a mere showbiz because if he would have been really interested in Pak players then he would have done it in the auctions. He had the opportunity, money and every right to so on that day.

Secondly, he did not even disclose the pressure, if any, there was at the time of auctions which prevented him from choosing his favorite Pak players. If he says that he is fighting for the truth from hooligans like shiv sena then he better tell the whole truth. The truth is that he denied putting his stake on Pak players in IPL which was a calculated business strategy. Besides, after that he is uttering nuisance in front of media, which is again a calculated move for his Bollywood business. Hats off to this “Baadshah” of politics, oops!!! “Baadshah” of Bollywood.

I can never support an SRK who can only speak and do nothing when he actually has the power to do it.  I love his acting but after this I have a question churning inside me. Who has picked him up for acting? He could have been a good politician. I guess after Amir’s blockbusters he is planning to retire and come into politics. Such episodes are just a warm up for him. I can expect some more of such nuisances from “Khan”. Great going!!!!

Thanks!!

  1. i disagree. Pak players should be a part of IPL. Its all about cricket. Just cricket! IPL has nothing to do with politics. IPL was not started with the intention of creating any war or peace. IPL was started as a new cricket format and thats all that there is to it! If pak players were not chosen based on performance or business point of view, its ok. But im against a deliberate attempt to keep them out.

  2. What do you mean SRK is doing nothing? He is an actor. His job is to act and he s doing that pretty damn well! He need not do anything more than that! Your job is to be an engineer n u r writing on ur blog but what more r u doing wrt Pakistan n peace and etc???!! Just like u are sticking to ur job, he is sticking to his. No offence meant here and am really not a big SRK fan but i disagree here.

  3. FOR THE FIRST ONE...I guess u have not read my previous post on IPL3. Do have a look at it also. You will get my point of view on this.

IPL is India's child. It will not become dead if Pak players are not there. We are continuously under attack from Pak directly or indirectly, this is nothing new. And if IPL can be a way to show these people our power then there is nothing wrong in it.

I compare this to gandhi's Non-cooperation movement. At that time people discarded all western clothes and everything that profited British. They never argued that clothes were never related to politics. Why should we discard them. Isn't it?? So why do we have to face this statement again and again - "Its all about cricket. Just cricket!".

No, its not about cricket. In today's world, its all about having power and showing to the adversaries. If India cannot do it on War Fronts for now it can at least avoid profiting Pak by such "Non-Cooperation Movements".

  4. THE SECOND ONE COMES HERE MY FRIEND....I never commented on SRK's acting. I am a big fan of him. Of course he is doing his job very well. He is an undisputed stalwart of his field. At least I agree on this.

By saying "SRK is doing nothing" I was commenting on his behavior at the Auctions of IPL3. If he was so interested in taking Pak players why didn't he utilize the opportunity?? I would like you to reply on this.

I disagree when you say "He need not do anything more than that!". I would say YES, he needs to do more than that. If he goes to media and utters something then he should be responsible enough to make that practically true. He's an actor not a politician. Is he?? "He did NOTHING" in the auctions which shows what he says and what he does is 180 degrees apart!!!

  5. It is rather cheap n foolish to prove a point to Pak by keeping them out of the IPL. If our military could not prove a point then it is necessary to resort to such means. Let the military handle the military n they r handling it pretty well! If SRK didn't choose Pak players from a business perspective and from a team requirement perspective, there s nothing wrong in it and there s nothing wrong in him saying that it would have been nicer if Pak players were selected. He has his point of view. Its not his fault that media pays more attention to his statements than urs or mine!! Just like u, even he is just expressing his views! He is not obliged to make anything happen!
I find no argument bec there is no comparision between seeking independence from Britishers n handling Pak. I dont think it is a rational comparision.
I hate the terrorism and insurgency and that should stop. But people in Pak are majorly like u and me! Doing normal stuff. Don't blame a country for what one sect is doing. Why not treat issues parallely rather than mixing the whole thing up n making it a mess?
Hating another country more does not make u extra patriotic!! It makes u a person who has fallen prey to politics! I don't like to harbour such strong negative sentiments against anyone.. really not worth it. An eye for an eye makes the world blind!

  6. True..."An Eye for An Eye makes the world blind" that is why I am supporting this Gandhian way of keeping our adversaries out of profitable matters. Don't see it as British or Pak, see it as a Gandhian formula that fits in this case. Ruin you enemy by not cooperating with him. Thats not War!!!

I have never mentioned "Hatred" in my posts. The above method is not hatred but a way to show them that we are no less. We are not that old India whom they are fooling for decades. We are now world leaders and can overcome them without even going to War. This is how I interpret this whole episode.

I think India has an endless tolerance level. But now it has to be limited. This does not mean we go to war with Pak. No, not at all. This is not a solution. But at least we can start showing them that now we are not in the same league in world forum as theirs. We are now heading to become the new World Power and they will have to listen to us otherwise we have many wasys of ear-twisting just like we did it now.
    Thanks!!

  7. As far as SRK is concerned. I think I m not able to present my view very clearly. You cant compare anyone's commenting to that of his. Any other person who is commenting does not have a team, he was not given an opportunity, unlike SRK himself, to do what he is saying. Moreover, if he's famous then he has a responsibility too.

I am still waiting for an answer from SRK that what stopped him from doing what he wished to do on that fateful auction day. This is the only thing I expect from him. Because if he has the guts to say what he has said then I think he should not stop here to bring the change. To bring the so-called "Messengers of Hatred" into the picture. After this answer I would Love to support SRK.

Only this can tell us that the whole episode was not only a publicity stunt but a real call for the change.
    Thanks!!
