Maoist Problem: A mindless Response

I wonder what would be the consequence of beating a child when he goes violent to make his voice heard to his parents. No matter what he demands, a sense of ignorance creeping in a child would affect adversely. He would not know if what he is demanding is right or wrong unless he is patiently heard and understood. This was an example of a child who, if treated in the same manner, would grow up hating his loved ones just because of the fact that they ignore him. I see this situation as a replica of what is happening in the eastern part of the country, what we call today as a Maoist problem.

I strongly feel that this problem is not new and neither it was unpredictable a couple of years ago. But the bureaucracy has taken people for granted and pushed the conditions to a threshold after which they became uncontrollable. The people involved in this havoc are no outsiders but our own people who have got fed up of their stagnant poverty and under developed conditions. Moreover, when they see people from other states flourishing, they blame their government for the situation. They don’t have basic supplies to their villages, no employment and no education. They are what they were a 50 years before. India was too busy in looking towards its already flourished and developed states. Thus, resorting to violence was seen as the only option for these people to make their voice reach Indian households. This is how ignorance can prove to be a poison for people.

Maoism, Naxalism is all a disguise taken by the people who were left with no other option to get away with the atrocities. This post is not intended to support the violence carried out by Maoists. This is just to figure out the reason of this violence. What would be more fascinating for a young uneducated, unemployed guy than having a gun in his hand which can make him feel superior?? Give it a thought. The biggest cause of this uncontrollable situation is illiteracy and ignorance from our side. The parties ruling for ages in these state have done nothing at all to better the lives of the people there. They have sought their own interests in prevailing illiteracy and unemployment. God knows what!!

But, on part of those people who have resorted to violence, I think that this is the best time to crack a deal with the government. They have now been heard and now the government will be forced to listen to their demands and fulfill them. Continuing violence is no solution; rather, it would go against them. Moreover, this is giving our foreign adversaries a chance to weaken India. Countries like china and Pakistan are always ready to supply facilities to such violence preaching groups in India. It is now no more becoming a fight of making a voice heard but a fight of superiority.

Maoist’s claim of overtaking the Indian Government by 2050 is an exaggeration and dream similar to one that Pakistan is dreaming from several decades about Kashmir. Thus, I can see the same sense of useless thinking now coming in the way of the true ideology of the people that mistakenly resorted to violence. If this violence continues for much more time it would become a war where our people will be used as a shield by our moron neighbors. It would be a huge loss of talent and youth.

I wish a good sense of peace prevails on both the sides so that a much planned and well managed solution comes out on the negotiating table rather than on war fields where our forces will have to fight their own people.

Thanks!!
